Paul Keetch, MP for Hereford and Ross-on-Wye today called for local people to take advantage of this November's Will Aid, a campaign that encourages people to make a Will with a participating solicitor and at the same time to raise vital funds to help 9 charities: ActionAid, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, Help the Aged, NSPCC, Save the Children UK, Sight Savers International, SCIAF (Scotland) and Trocaire (N. Ireland).

Over 9000 stickered £1 coins went into circulation across the UK last week (Monday 6th October), highlighting the cost of tuition fees being paid by students in England and Northern Ireland over the course of a degree. Local Liberal Democrat MP, Paul Keetch, is lending support to the campaign by circulating the coins in the House of Commons and in his constituency.

Bill Wiggin, MP for Leominster, had also been invited but was unable to attend due to parliamentary business overseas taking precedence.

Paul Keetch, MP for Hereford, has formally requested the Health Secretary, Alan Johnson, provide any additional resources needed by the Hereford County Hospital to deal with patients affected by the erroneous test results that were revealed earlier this year following the suspension of a consultant at the hospital.

Paul Keetch, Lib Dem MP for Hereford, was advised personally by The Lord Adonis of the Department for Children, Schools and Families, that funding has been secured for the development of two new Academies in his constituency. The first is to be built on the site of the Waldorf Steiner School, Much Dewchurch, and will be known as the Hereford Steiner Academy. The second replaces Wyebridge Sports College, formerly Haywood High School, and will be known as the Hereford Academy.
