Party President Visit boosts Sarah Carr's Campaign
4.27.45pm BST (GMT +0100) Mon 7th Sep 2009
Local Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate Sarah Carr welcomed the Liberal Democrat National Party President Baroness Ros Scott to the Hereford and South Herefordshire constituency on Sunday 6th September to help with her campaign and publicly thank the thousands of people actively supporting the Liberal Democrats in Herefordshire.
Baroness Scott joined local party volunteers and activists in knocking on doors canvassing and delivering thousands of leaflets in Ross-on-Wye and Hereford over the weekend.
Sarah Carr said:
"The Liberal Democrats are the only main party who expect the Party President to join in delivering leaflets and knocking on doors when they visit a constituency! Liberal Democrat campaigning is not funded by big business or trade unions like the other two main political parties.
"The Liberal Democrats in Herefordshire are wholly reliant on local people - volunteers who work incredibly hard campaigning, fundraising and finding out what matters to local people - their friends and neighbours - and then in joint effort working to get the very best deal for our area. Ros Scott joined us in Herefordshire this weekend to thank people for their hard work."
The weekend's extensive campaigning activity culminated in a drinks party on Sunday afternoon at Sarah Carr's home in Park Street, Hereford where Sarah and Ros took the opportunity to thank everyone involved in Liberal Democrat campaigning activities in the County.
