Sarah Carr, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Hereford and South Herefordshire, today (24th August) met with Jonathan Bretherton, Chief Executive of the Edgar Street Grid Herefordshire company to raise her concerns and those of many residents about the controversial 100 acre regeneration of central Hereford.
"Every day fellow residents tell me their worries for Hereford's existing historic city centre following the plans for the Edgar Street Grid area. People are concerned about the proposed road layout, flooding and the impact on High Town with big new shops across the road.
"I was very pleased to meet with Mr Bretherton to voice these concerns on behalf of many local people and suggest instead to Mr Bretherton ideas from local people. Many people agree Hereford needs a boost especially during the recession but they do not want a clone town. People tell me they want regeneration to reflect the character of our beautiful county and city with more leisure facilities especially for younger people included on the ESG area."
