Sarah Carr launches her 5 pledges
|
Sarah Carr, the woman who hopes to succeed Paul Keetch as Member of Parliament, launched her 'Five Pledges' to residents in Hereford and South Herefordshire at the Ross-on-Wye Carnival and at Herefordshire Country Fair this weekend (1st/2nd August).
Sarah Carr's Five Pledges to You are:
1. Local Champion: Be a strong voice for Hereford, Ross-on-Wye and South Herefordshire locally and nationally, using local services living in Hereford with my family.
2. Safer Communities: Work with police and community groups to reduce levels of crime and anti-social behaviour.
3. The Best Deal for Herefordshire: Campaign for a fair funding deal for our schools, colleges and health service, more affordable housing and a second river crossing.
4. Honesty and Fairness: Publish all expenses in full, not accept any second job that benefits me financially and work hard for all constituents regardless of their political views.
5. Protecting our way of life: Support our high streets and rural communities by fighting any unwanted Post Office and school closures, championing the environment and supporting local businesses.
Sarah said,
"A lot of people are angry about the behaviour of politicians and feel that MPs have no relevance on their every day lives. I live in Hereford with my family. I want to be honest and tell people up front what I pledge to do for residents if I am fortunate to be elected as their Member of Parliament.
"I hope that these pledges help people in deciding who will be the best MP for them in Hereford and South Herefordshire."
Sarah Carr was selected as the Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate for the Hereford and South Herefordshire constituency in March 2007.
Printed and hosted by Prater Raines Ltd, 98 Sandgate High Street, Folkestone CT20 3BY.
