Times are tough in Britain. Herefordshire in particular has been hit hard by the recession. Many families across the County are struggling to make ends meet as shops and services go out of business and jobs are lost. The Liberal Democrats have devised a ten point plan to help beat the recession;

Summary of the Plan

1. Scrap £12.5 billion VAT cut and fund huge 'Green Jobs' programme.

2. Cut taxes for struggling families. Keep money in people's pockets

3. Keep people in their homes. Banks only to repossess property only as a LAST resort.

4. Lower energy bills. Wages have simply not kept up with the cost of running running a home.

5. Greater assistance to help people who lose their jobs or have debt problems

6. Reform the banking sector. Tighter regulation and an end to the bonus culture.

7. Nationalise failing banks. Ensure that they run in the public interest.

8. Action to deliver future economic stability

9. International action to reinvigorate global trade

10. New priorities for Government - invest in education and training for tomorrow.
