Alan Williams has lived in Herefordshire all his life. He is County born and bred.

Following the resignation of Conservative Nick Vaughan from Hereford City Council, former Mayor Alan Williams has been nominated by local residents to stand in the by-election that this has triggered.

Local businessman Alan Williams was councillor in Aylestone for many years and will push for more to be done to help residents and employers in Aylestone. With all but one of the County Council's Conservative leadership coming from outside Hereford, many residents have said that more needs to be done to improve services and save jobs in the City.

Polling day for this election will be 7am - 10pm on Thursday 19th February. With no Conservative candidate standing, it will be a race between Alan Williams and the Labour candidate, with two independent candidates also standing. If you would like to know more details about how and where to vote then please give Herefordshire Council's Election Department a call on (01432) 260107 or go to www.herefordshire.gov.uk.
