Campaigner Sarah Carr and Paul Keetch MP explain to the media how important Tudorville post office is to the area.

Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate and local Post Office campaigner Sarah Carr has spoken of her anger that the review of the closure of Tudorville Post Office has been completed with the news that the branch will close at the beginning of December.

Post Office Limited is currently exploring the possibility of introducing a new 'Urban Outreach' service at this location on a trial basis. However, there has been as yet no formal public commitment to providing any alternative provision beyond 3rd December, meaning Tudorville could be without any Post Office services in the run up to Christmas.

Sarah said, "This closure is a body blow for local residents many of whom rely on this Post Office as part of the lifeblood of their community.

"This so called 'further review' of Tudorville Post Office has turned out to be nothing but a further cynical attempt at duping residents into thinking that the branch could be saved. Sadly, this whole consultation has been dominated by foregone conclusions in which the views and needs of residents have come second to the need for Post Office Ltd to cut costs. This is unacceptable which ever way you look at it.

"I shall be continuing the fight to ensure that the residents of Tudorville can access the public services that they need. This Closure Culture affecting so many of Herefordshire's communities must be reversed as a matter of urgency."
