Sarah Carr, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Hereford and South Herefordshire, gave her help and full support to Mental Health Awareness Day which took place in High Town, Hereford on Wednesday 30th July.

Sarah Carr said,

"A quarter of people are affected by some sort of mental health problem and many sufferers and their families need support and advice.

"From a political perspective the Labour Government's record has been poor on mental health services with money consistently diverted away. We need to ensure that mental health services are treated equally within the NHS and that waiting times for treatment are dramatically improved.

"It is fantastic that local people have got together to organise this awareness day in Hereford to help sufferers and their friends and families in Herefordshire."

At the stand in High Town, Hereford, Sarah Carr thanked the many people who had helped organise the event especially local woman Jen Ellsum who had the original idea and arranged the day.

The event was sponsored by the MDF Bipolar Organisation.
