Aylestone School Business and Enterprise College, Hereford hosted the 'Work Related Learning Awards Evening for Herefordshire' on Thursday 3rd July. Sarah Carr, the Liberal Democrat hopeful as next MP for Hereford and South Herefordshire was delighted to attend to congratulate all the winners from schools across Herefordshire and to express her thanks to the many local businesses that provide excellent work placements to our county's eager 14 to 16 year olds.
"It is fantastic that so many local companies and organisations chose to invest in our young people by offering work placements and I thank them wholeheartedly. Nothing beats on the job training and experience for many to find out if a future career is right for them and to encourage all young people to fulfill their full potential in life.
"It was a pleasure to hear such high praise from local employers for the hard-working school pupils from across Herefordshire in their commitment and dedication during their work placements as they found out what real work is all about. My congratulations to all nominated pupils, to Herefordshire Education Business Partnership for sponsoring the prizes and my thanks to Justine McNeillie of Aylestone School Business and Enterprise College for hosting the event and demonstrating the success of the Young Apprenticeship in Hospitality with such delicious canapes!"
