Sarah Carr, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Hereford and South Herefordshire, her daughter Ella and Herefordshire Liberal Democrats took part in the five thousand people strong 'Save our Schools' protest march through Hereford on 13th February, 2008.

Sarah Carr said, "The school closure fiasco has been the last straw for many people fed up with Conservative-led Herefordshire Council. The ruling Cabinet have lost the trust of the public."

"Local mums Jane Ward and Eugene Gooch, organisers of the march and of Herefordshire Against Closure of Schools (HACS), have done so much work in the fight to save our schools. They have brought people together to demonstrate that the people of Herefordshire will not be pushed around by anyone. They have done a brilliant job."

"I attended a small rural primary school and I strongly support our local schools. I will not let Conservative led Herefordshire Council get away with trying to close them or blame anyone else for their mistakes. If they try school cuts by the back door, they will find I am alongside the people of Herefordshire ready and waiting to stop them."

Sarah and her husband Shaun plan for their pre-school daughter Ella to attend the primary school at the top of their street where they live in Hereford.
