A new Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for North Herefordshire!7.18.00am GMT Thu 6th Dec 2007
At a well-attended meeting on Friday 30th November, local businesswoman and active campaigner Lucy Hurds became the new Lib Dem candidate for North Herefordshire. After members of the local party quizzed her in a question and answer session, Lucy won the nomination with over 90% of the votes cast. 'I'd like to thank local members for choosing me as their candidate to campaign for North Herefordshire' said Lucy Hurds. 'Our area hasn't had the representation it deserves and I'm going to change that.' Lucy Hurds was brought up in Ross, where she and her brothers attended St. Joseph's RC Primary school. She now lives with her husband in Weobley where she has played an active role in the community for many years, including having been a director of the Moneybox Credit Union.
