Sarah Carr, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Hereford and South Herefordshire and Paul Keetch MP for Hereford last week (Friday 28th September) visited on invitation the B&Q store in Hereford to see for themselves the environmental efforts being made by the store.
B&Q now sells energy saving light bulbs, solar panels and water butts, as well as recycling a large amount of its waste and by working with their suppliers they aim to understand, manage and reduce the impact their products have on the environment.
Sarah commenting said: "I am delighted to see a leading company such as B&Q demonstrating their commitment to helping preserve our environment. Only through taking concerted action over a period of time can we hope to meet the serious environmental challenges of our time.
"It seems as though the Hereford B&Q branch sells more water butts than other branches. This must be to save water for all those beautiful gardens out there!"
