After Paul Keetch MP announced his intention to stand down at the next general election, Hereford Liberal Democrats have been voicing their appreciation for his work and energy. Paul has been Hereford's MP for over nine years and in that time has worked to help all residents of the City, from individual residents' problems to huge issues such as obtaining flood defences.

Over the past week, Hereford Liberal Democrats have received numerous letters and calls from residents of Hereford and south Herefordshire conveying their thanks for the commitment and energy Paul has put into his time as MP. Many messages have been personal thanks for Paul's help in resolving problems that may otherwise never have been addressed.

Echoing these messages, the Hereford Liberal Democrat Association express their heartfelt thanks to Paul for the energetic part he has taken in both his role as MP and his position as an active member of the local Lib Dem Party.

"On behalf of our members, I would like to thank Paul for the endless enthusiasm and hard work that has characterised his time as MP. We all wish him the best of luck in whichever career he chooses to pursue in the future"

Cllr Polly Andrews, Chair of Hereford Liberal Democrats

"Paul has been a tireless campaigner and, after years and years of Tory neglect, helped to put Hereford back on the map…Whoever may succeed Paul at the next election will find that he is a very hard act to follow. But Paul has laid very deep foundations, and I have every confidence that Liberal Democracy is here to stay in South Herefordshire"

Chris Green, Honorary President of Hereford Liberal Democrats
