TAYLORS' TRIUMPH IN TUPSLEY BY-ELECTION3.58.00pm GMT Fri 2nd Dec 2005 Hereford Liberal Democrats are celebrating last night's sensational victory in the Tupsley by-election. Local candidates Liz and Alan Taylor were returned as the new Unitary and City councillors respectively for the ward. Commenting on the result, Alan Taylor said: "Both Liz and myself are thrilled by the result. We have worked very hard and spoken to many residents in this campaign who are fed up with the current council's lack of consultation on local issues. "I hope that with our election we can now help to tackle many of the issues raised by local residents." Local MP, Paul Keetch said: "This news is fantastic! I was born and bred in Tupsley and I still live there so know, as a local resident that Liz and Alan will be exceptional councillors. They are a caring and committed couple and I know they will do their utmost to stand up for our community. " Election Agent Cllr Polly Andrews said: "I hope this marvellous result will send a strong message to this ineffective and overspent Conservative/Independent administration - They can no longer go on ignoring the views of local residents. "Liz and Alan are candidates of the highest calibre and I am sure what they have said, they will get on and do."
