What The Lib-Dems Have Achieved in Government

Our party is already having a major influence on Government with large parts of our manifesto becoming legislation. Here is some of what we have achieved so far:

- Over a million low paid workers have been taken out of income tax
- Lower income tax bills for over 20 million medium and and low income earners
- £4.50 a week pensions increase and the earnings link with pensions restored
- Tough new tax on the banks to raise £10 billion
- More apprenticeships to get young people into work
- Pupil Premium introduced to help poorer pupils
- ID cards scrapped
- A £900 million crack-down on tax evasion
- Our Minister for Equality has been working on legislation which will tackle hate crime more effectively and work towards a more fairer and just society for everyone
