Council in deep water as LEA pool fight continues...

Following a meeting of Herefordshire Council's Cabinet, Hereford's LEA pool has been given a stay of execution. With the Conservative Council administration looking to cut costs by axing the much-used pool, pressure from 38 schools, opposition councillors and residents has forced them into a temporary climbdown.

HEREFORDSHIRE CHILDMINDERS' CAMPAIGN SUCCESSFUL SAYS CARR

Sarah Carr, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Hereford and South Herefordshire has welcomed the decision by the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) not to press ahead with a 400% increase over three years in annual registration fees for registered childminders and other childcare providers.

'Take a winning shot of your local park!' says Sarah Carr

Taking every opportunity to promote Herefordshire nationally, Sarah Carr, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Hereford and South Herefordshire is encouraging all local amateur photographers to submit entries to the 'Postcards from the Park' national photography competition run by The Big Lottery Fund, the Heritage Lottery Fund and GreenSpace where the overall winner will receive a 1st prize of £1000 in Jessops vouchers! Photographers are encouraged to capture what they love about their local park.

Aylestone School Business and Enterprise College, Hereford hosted the 'Work Related Learning Awards Evening for Herefordshire' on Thursday 3rd July. Sarah Carr, the Liberal Democrat hopeful as next MP for Hereford and South Herefordshire was delighted to attend to congratulate all the winners from schools across Herefordshire and to express her thanks to the many local businesses that provide excellent work placements to our county's eager 14 to 16 year olds.
